Cupuacu is gaining popularity as more and more people around the globe are becoming aware of its health benefits. In fact, celebrity health practitioner Dr. Oz extolled cupuacu and recommended it to help combat aging, body weight and other health issues. Apart from being a healthy super-fruit it also has a great taste. Here are a few cupuacu recipes which you can prepare easily at the convenience of your own kitchen.

Brown Rice with Cupuacu:

This is an excellent cupuacu recipe which is light to eat and digest. Although rice is more commonly consumed during main course of the meal, you can also eat this dish for breakfast or brunch.

* Ingredients:

- Brown rice: 2 cups
- Cupuacu powder: 1/2 cup
- Jalapenos: 2, medium sized
- Anaheim Green Chili: 2
- Onion: 2, medium sized
- Lemon juice: 1 teaspoon
- Salt: As per taste
- Cumin seed: 1.5 teaspoon
- Cinnamon powder: Half teaspoon
- Black pepper: 1 teaspoon
- Cashew (optional): 10-15 pieces
- Cooking oil: 2 tablespoons (You may go for using olive oil)

* Instructions to prepare:

1. Wash brown rice properly. Cook brown rice with salt and keep aside. In the subsequent steps you will see that we will be frying cooked brown rice. Freshly cooked rice tends to form lumps while cooking. Therefore, for this preparation it is ideal to use cooked brown rice which was cooked at least 3-4 hours before we fry it. You may also go for cooking the brown rice at night and leaving it overnight before frying.

2. Cut onion and capsicum into thin long pieces. Cut green chili by tearing it vertically into two long pieces.

3. In a deep sauce pan, heat oil. Add cumin seeds to the hot oil immediately followed by onion and green chilly. Fry the onion on medium heat until it starts to turn pink.

4. Add capsicum and cupuacu powder to the onions and fry for about a minute on low heat.

5. Add salt, pepper, cinnamon powder and lemon juice and mix well.

6. Add boiled brown rice to the fried vegetables and mix slowly without mashing the rice.

7. Fry the rice for about 2-3 minutes on medium heat.

8. Cut cashew into small pieces. In a small pan heat about 1 teaspoon of oil. Put off the heat and fry cashew in the hot oil until they turn golden brown.

9. In a shallow bowl spread the cashew at the bottom of the bowl evenly. Now fill the bowl till the top with the fried rice pressing slowly and evenly.

10. In a rice plate or platter dish, invert the bowl and slowly pull it away, so that a mould of rice is left on the plate.

11. Serve immediately.

* Garnishing suggestion:

While serving sprinkle with freshly ground cinnamon powder and with fresh green coriander leaves.

Cupuacu Strawberry Smoothie:

Cupuacu is rich in antioxidants and vitamins. Try this smoothie with the flavor of strawberry and the taste and goodness of cupuacu. This is a great desert and a good choice after eating the above brown rice dish.

* Ingredients:

- Cupuacu pulp: 1 cup
- Strawberry: 1 cup, washed and diced
- Low fat yogurt: Half cup, vanilla flavoured
- Low fat milk: Half cup
- Sugar (optional): As per taste
- Ice cubes: 2

* Instructions to prepare:

1. Add all the ingredients in a blender and blend until a smooth puree is formed.

2. Transfer the contents of the blender in tall glasses and serve immediately.

* Garnishing suggestion:

Top up the smoothie with a dollop of vanilla ice cream before serving.

Out of these healthy and mouth watering cupuacu recipes, which one will you try today?

In an earlier blog entitled Cultivating Cupuacu we discussed the type of growing environments that cause the cupuacu tree to thrive and bear its amazing superfood. In this blog post we will discuss transplanting a newly germinated seed, spacing requirements, maintenance and finally harvesting cupuacu.

Transplanting Planting Cupuacu

For the first two years, you will want to make sure your new cupuacu tree grows in a shaded area; thereafter you can move the young tree into full sunlight. Since cupuacu grows under the canopy of the rainforest, it is important to mimic its natural growing environment as much as possible. Many growers place their new cupuacu in growing barns with other species such as banana trees, different palm trees, rubber trees and many other rainforest plants. Initially the seedlings should be planted in planter boxes or pits that measure 15″x15″. The soil should have a mixture of manure and 100 grams of superphosphate. In most cases you can find superphosphate at your local hardware store or on Amazon.com (here is the link for your convenience). You will also want to use mulch around the trunk of the tree to control weeds and maintain appropriate moisture levels.

Spacing Out Your Cupuacu Orchard

Giving your cupuacu tree plenty of room to grow is essential for health root development. For trees propagated from seedlings use 21′ x 21′ triangles. For trees propagated by grafting, you may use 18′x 18′ triangles. You are encouraged to plant a diversified arrangement of other plants and flowers as this will help with pest and weed control.

Cultivating and Nurturing Your Cupuacu Tree

Any experienced Green Thumb will tell you weeds will hinder the growth of any healthy plant or tree. For that reason, it is important you keep the weeds at bay for the first three years. Mulching will help, but expect some manual labor. Try to avoid using herbicides whenever possible, or opt for eco-friendly alternatives. Another way to nurture your cupuacu tree is through pruning. Pruning will help keep the tree from growing out of control and focus the trees energies on fruiting. Any pruning done in the first year is to promote division of branches from the trunk and will give you a much fuller and greater yielding cupuacu tree. After the second you will still have to prune to create an even distribution of branches and cut away dying or diseased branches.

Harvesting Your Superfood

Five to six months after flowering, it is time to harvest your cupuacu. Harvesting is a manual task and you will need to harvest your superfood two to three times per week. The ripe fruit will fall to the ground, hence the importance of keeping your tree at a manageable height. Your cupuacu tree will gain in yields and stabilize five to six years after planting.

As the popularity of cupuacu increases so does the interest to cultivate this superfruit. While cupuacu is primarily grown in the tropical regions of the Amazon, cultivating it elsewhere is possible if the conditions are right.

Climate and Soil for Growing Cupuacu

Cultivation is recommended in areas with average annual temperatures above 72 degrees Fahrenheit, rainfall above 59″ per year and the relative humidity above 75%. Cupuacu adapts well to many soil types but many horticulturist recommended deep sandy-clay with good drainage.

Three Cupuacu Varietals

There are three commercially available varieties of cupuacu – two which are similar and the third being a seedless variety.

Cupuacu Round is rounded at both ends ends, and is the smallest of the three varieties weighing in at 3 – 3.5 lbs. The round variety is the most cultivated within the Amazon region.

Cupuacu Mamorana is similar to the round varity but has elongated ends and is slightly larger weighing 4 – 4.5 lbs.

Cupuacu Mamau is the seedless variety and is similar in shape to the round cupuacu. The average fruit weighs approximately 4 lbs, but can get up to a whopping 8 lbs.

Propagating Cupuacu

Commercial cupuacu is propagated either by grafting or by seedlings. The process is very similar to that of the cocoa tree. If seeding, the seeds should come from healthy and high yielding tree.

You can use seeds to propagate cupuacu after making sure all pulp is removed and the seeds are thoroughly washed. After washing the cupuacu seeds you will need to dry them in a shaded area for at least two days. Afterwards the seeds can begin germinating by placing them in a plastic bag or putting them in a sand and sawdust mixture. In most cases the seeds will begin to germinate after the fifteenth day. Once the cupuacu seeds have successfully germinated, wait until they are 10 to 15 cm in length before transplanting into soil. After transplanting, keep the cupuacu seeds covered in a nursery until they reach 30 cm tall which typically takes four to five months.

Grafting is another technique and most widely used method to propagate cupuacu and using this technique does not differ much from grafting other fruiting trees. Grafting is an art unto itself. If you would like to learn more about grafting there are numerous sites to explain in detail how to graft fruit trees.

Cupuacu is a very hearty tree and grows well in nearly all types of soil. The three biggest prerequisites for successfully growing cupuacu are

warm year around temperatures,

high humidity

and plenty of water.

Our next blog will cover planting, spacing, cultivating and harvesting cupuacu.

Cupuacu is one of the most known and used fruits from the Amazon region and in recent years has been gaining more and more tastes throughout the country also known as cocoa of the Andes.

This cupuacu recipe is a new take on a Brazilian classic. While you may use a pie crust, this dish is traditionally served with vanilla wafers on the top, much like banana pudding. This is a very rich dish, so feel free to substitute 2% or non-fat milk when indicated.
Cupuacu is one of the most known and used fruits from the Amazon region and in recent years has been gaining more and more tastes throughout the country also known as cocoa of the Andes.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup of cupuaçu powder
8 oz of heavy whipping cream
8 oz of condensed milk
Pre-made pie crust of your choice.
4 oz of whole milk

Instructions:

This is a simple recipe. All you need to do is blend all the ingredients together with a hand held mixer or in a stand mixer. Once you get a creamy consistency, spoon the cupuacu mixture into the pie crust. You may add vanilla wafers to had more texture.

Be sure to chill the pie for at least an hour prior to serving. This desert goes well with coffee or any other type of tropical fruit.

If you want to avoid dairy, try using coconut milk instead. The slight under tones of the coconut milk complements cupuacu very nicely.

Also, cupuacu can be very tart at times. Feel free to add a sweetener, such as sugar, during the mixing process. Keep in mind, chilled deserts are not as sweet when served cold, so add just a little more than you normally would.

I have to shed a few pounds, just like countless others. My prior attempts to shed weight are usually met with highs and lows. As a result, I did a lot of researching and it appears like plenty of people are having some terrific success with gluten free diets and cupuacu. Commencing today I’ll find out if it can help me lose weight.

I’m like the millions who begin every year with a weight goal in mind and give up about summer time. Perhaps the reason I’ve not been effective in the past is from a lack of results and the discipline required to stay the course. Following experiences of letdowns, we often grant ourselves permission to eat almost anything. I’m all too familiar with this cycle. Let’s be honest, no one truly likes to lose weight by dieting. Nobody likes the restrictions.

After I had my son, I carried the weight for fairly some time. Regardless of how hard I attempted, I could not get down to my pre-baby weight. Feeling out of control about my weight made me really feel indifferent about really losing the weight. Truth be told, I like to eat. I’m a foodie by nature. Perhaps that’s why I’m slightly optimistic since this diet plan has few of restrictions.

So I’ve been performing a bit of research and it seems a many of have grain sensitivities. Paleolithic humans didn’t have a lot grain in their diets according to anthropologist. They ate what they could hunt and forage. It appears a number of cereals, like spelt, might trigger particular sensitivities and may be in a roundabout way connected with an increase in weight. I thought it was intriguing that numerous food scientist agree humans became more prone to “society diseases” when they started farming.

This really is hardly a “diet” or “dieting” within the normal sense of the term but a various way of improving my overall diet. The evidence recommend humans became much more susceptible to illness and illnesses when we began consuming a diet plan heavy in grains. Now, I confess, keeping a balanced diet plan is merely 1 way to shed pounds, but to maintain the weight off I will wish to do much more physical exercise. / Consuming the proper foods like cupuacu may assist weight reduction too.

I’m searching forward to begin. Here would be to well being and wellness!

Jamie’s Italian leads the renaissance of a new type of restaurant chain
By its third night, Jamie’s Italian was dishing up home-made pasta and free-range prosciutto to 400 diners. British celebrity chef Jamie Oliver’s Australian beachhead opened this week on Pitt Street to a strong start. It’s the latest of several high-profile restaurant openings, including David Chang’s Momofuku Seiobo, Stefano Manfredi’s Balla, Teage Ezard’s Black by Ezard (all at the Star) and Chase Kojima’s Sokyo due to open at the casino’s Darling hotel next week. These follow a raft of new offerings at Westfield mall including David Tsirekas’s Xanthi, Alessandro Pavoni’s Spiedo and Justin North’s new Becasse. But the reality is that for the past year restaurants have been closing their doors faster than new ones are opening, industry head John Hart from Restaurant Catering said. “There is quite a lot of consolidation going on,” Hart said, noting a strong shift towards corporate ownership and away from independents. “Unless you’ve got economy of scale behind a number of businesses, you really can’t make a buck,” he said. The Star’s new restaurants are owned by the casino and operated by individual chefs’ teams. At Westfield the restaurants are mostly second, third and fourth businesses for corporate owners. “While they’re multiple outlets, they’re not cookie-cutter operations – you’ve still got all that difference in the market and you get the economy of scale as well,” Hart said. Jamie’s Italian is owned by a listed company, the Pacific Restaurant Group, which also owns the Chophouse and three Kingsleys Steak Crabhouse restaurants. With more than 20 restaurants (in Britain and Dubai, with Moscow and Brisbane on the way), Jamie’s Italian is a global franchise. Sydney Morning Herald, 29 October

Drunkorexia: girls starving to drink more
IT’S a new dangerous drinking fad dubbed ‘drunkorexia’ and gripping NSW – women starving themselves so they can booze and not gain weight. Medics say the growing craze is most common among university students faced with the challenge of staying slim and peer-pressure drinking. Research shows substance abuse like binge drinking co-exists with eating disorders – 50 per cent of women with eating disorders will have a drinking problem. “This is tied in with the increase in binge drinking in Australia which is a real problem,” Eating Disorders Foundation spokeswoman Naomi Crafti said. “We also know there is an increase in the number of people suffering from eating disorders and disordered eating and there is no reason to believe that their alcohol intake is any different to their food intake.” Dr Crafti said many young Australian women were ‘drunkorexics’, the common term for multi-impulsive bulimia. “They are not eating all day because they know they are going to drink at night so they are saving their calories,” she said. “Then they are drinking large quantities of alcohol which has no nutrients, getting excessively drunk because they have no food in their stomach and often engaging in promiscuous sexual activity because they have no control over their behaviour and later on purging to rid themselves of the calories of alcohol.” Sunday Telegraph, 30 October

Time to advance, Australian fare;
If we defined Australia by its food, what would it be? The barbecue, pavlova or lamington? I don’t think so. We can barely lay claim to the barbie, almost certainly did not create the pav and the latter is a none-too-flash bit of sponge cake. Brazilian chef Alex Atala was challenged to think about his country’s food during a meal at legendary El Bulli restaurant in Spain. He says a course called Countries “transformed my life”. Thailand was portrayed by coconut milk, curry and kaffir lime; Japan by soy sauce, seaweed and fish; Italy by tomatoes, basil and olive oil. Atala began looking at his nation’s little-known indigenous ingredients and, in 1999, opened D.O.M. restaurant in Sao Paulo. The restaurant’s use of native Brazilian and Amazonian produce, such as acai and cupuacu, has had a profound effect on his country’s attitude to its native foods. Move 12 years forward to the luxurious surrounds of a dinner party in the Paspaley jewellery store. Despite pearls the size of mini tomatoes displayed all around, a group of diners is more focused on their plates and, in particular, a sophisticated and memorable dish – Native Fruits of Australia – served by Ben Shewry of Attica, Melbourne. A wonderful amalgam of sharp and sweet, there are muntries, candied desert limes, lemon aspen, finger limes and rosella petals served on a sheep’s milk yoghurt infused with the flavour of gum leaves. It is all part of a quiet revolution in the kitchens of Australia’s top chefs. Chefs such as Shewry are looking to their own backyard for ingredients. Chef Martin Benn serves a finger lime mousse at Sepia, while Peter Gilmore of Quay restaurant makes a ewe’s milk ice-cream with lilly-pilly. Today’s chefs are teaching themselves to use and understand the tastes and textures of our indigenous plants in a sympathetic, subtle and exciting way. Sydney Morning Herald, 29 October

Restaurant The Bridge Room
The single most important ingredient in the Australian restaurant kitchen today? A passport. What is putting ideas into dining today like never before is the need that creative Australians have to head abroad and learn from others before bringing it all back home. It curves the ball and shakes up the predictable, an unfortunate by-product of Australia’s relatively small training pool. Which takes us into Sydney’s sandstone corridors of commerce, to Bridge Street, where Ross Lusted and head chef Stephen Moore are, metaphorically, still unpacking. Lusted has been away 10 years, mostly with Aman Resorts, setting up restaurants the world over. Stephen Moore has been with Lusted much of that time, with forays into serious Spanish restaurants. What they bring back to Bridge Street is an attitude and experience contributing to a unique cuisine. Their menu is diversely inspired but truly their own. Just don’t ask us to categorise it. The thread is great produce presented in a manner that eschews richness and weight for flavour, texture and levity. A “salad”, for example, of shaved, raw heirloom carrots, grilled baby turnip, beetroot and its leaves, house-made sheep’s milk curd and coconut ash; it’s fleshy and crunchy, and proudly shows off the kitchen’s little Japanese charcoal grill. But there’s better to come: citrus, salt and rich, creamy pork flavour in a salad of bitter red baby radicchio with oysters, blood orange and wafers of lardo, all glossed over with a dressing of pineapple, lime, fish sauce, mandarin juice and pork fat. And Lusted’s take on lamb and mint sauce is rump from Junee, cooked sous vide in olive oil and dried oregano. It gets a run on the charcoal before slicing – dark exterior, almost red inside – to be served with pureed Jerusalem artichoke, fresh peas, a little chicken broth and pounded mint. The Australian, 29 October

Snakes and turtles ‘for Thai tables’
KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian authorities have seized nearly 450 protected snakes and turtles – many dead – that may have been destined for dining tables in neighbouring Thailand, an official said yesterday. Authorities raided a house in northern Kedah state on Wednesday and found the animals in small cages and boxes, said Celescoriano Razond, a senior wildlife department official. A total of 302 cobras and five Malayan box turtles were taken into the custody of wildlife officials, who planned to release them into the wild, Mr Razond said. Another 141 turtles were found dead. He said two men were arrested for keeping animals that were protected under Malaysian law, an offence punishable by several years in jail. The animals may have been destined for restaurants in Thailand, he added. Weekend Australian, 29 October

Kids’ menus out of order
PARENTS eating out with their children are fed up with Melbourne’s pubs and restaurants offering unhealthy kids’ meals such as chicken nuggets and chips, fish and chips, wedges, and macaroni and cheese. Health Kick dietitian Melanie McGrice said traditionally offered children’s options were extremely disappointing. “Kids’ meals are usually kilojoule-laden, high in saturated fat and lacking in fruit and vegetables,” she said. “They do not set a good example for kids on how to eat healthily and are just perpetuating the obesity epidemic.” Father of two and qualified chef Roger Chandler said he would never take his kids to a city pub to eat. “No thought goes into the food – the menu is always just whatever is going to be cheapest and easiest for kids,” he said. “This generally means something deep fried that comes with a soft drink and chocolate mousse. “There is no reason why kids can’t order from the regular menu and get a smaller portion size of whatever adults eat.” Ms McGrice agreed restaurants could do many things to make kids’ meals healthier. “They could make sure all their kids’ meals come with a side of vegies, swap chips for salad, or offer grilled fish and chicken instead of fried,” she said. “Milk instead of soft drink is also good.” McGrice said adult portion sizes were often too big, so if parents were really worried, they could always get a healthy meal themselves and share it with their child. Sunday Herald Sun, 30 October

Raided Civic restaurant facing health inspection
The Civic restaurant raided by drugs squad detectives on Thursday has subsequently faced probes from health and work safety authorities. Inspectors from WorkSafe ACT and the ACT Health Directorate arrived at The London Burgers and Beers in the wake of the police, and WorkSafe shut the premises down for 24 hours. The London Circuit venue was given the all clear by the work safety authorities to open its doors again yesterday after “several” safety problems, mostly relating to emergency exits, had been fixed. But food safety inspectors said that they had not finished their investigations and have not ruled out taking further action against the business. Health Protection Services director John Woollard said his inspectors had also been called in by police and had found some “matters of concern to us”. “At the moment we’ve completed our review and are taking some action to rectify some matters,” Mr Woollard said. “There is the possibility that it will go through the court system so I don’t want to be saying too much at this stage. “But we are working through some issues with the owners.” Mr Woollard would not confirm whether he had ordered the venue closed. ACT police were remaining tight-lipped yesterday as to whether any illegal substances had been found after the drug-related raid on popular civic restaurant on Thursday. Canberra Times, 29 October

Drug-tainted fears for seized gelati
GELATI sold at nine Adelaide cafes and restaurants has been seized by health authorities after a methamphetamines laboratory was allegedly found in the manufacturer’s premises. Police and SA Health officers feared the gelati may have been contaminated by dangerous chemicals discovered in the Bambino Gelato factory. The owner and his brother have been arrested and charged. SA Health said officers found “there was the potential that food and equipment could have been contaminated”. Sunday Tasmanian, 30 October

Beer culture rocked to core
I’D like to have a cider with Duncan – it doesn’t have quite the same ring to it. But that doesn’t matter to a new generation of Aussie blokes choosing a cold cider over a beer at the pub. And it is Generation-Y men who are driving the trend. According to Roy Morgan research, 58 per cent of cider drinkers are men, and 30 per cent are aged under 25, while business analysts Nielsen recently found the cider drink category was growing between 30 to 35 per cent a year. The Arkaba Hotel, in Fullarton, has recorded a 300 per cent increase in cider sales in its bottle shop in the past year. Arkaba promotions manager Glen Aikman said cider was no longer considered a girl’s drink. “We have blokes who are footballers and guys from other sporting codes through the hotel regularly and they are now all ordering cider,” he said. “It’s probably been in the last six months that we’ve really noticed a swing on and off premises to cider.” Alex Weeks, 22, said his female friends introduced him to cider. “You don’t feel as full or bloated,” he said. “It’s a great Sunday sesh drink, especially on a summer’s day.” Adelaide’s Wright St Hotel decided to focus on cider when it opened eight months ago, even including a “cider garden” in celebration of the drink. Owner Mike Pettigrew said he had seen growth of 85 per cent in cider sales in the last two months alone. Beer sales grew just 10 per cent in the same period. The Hills Cider Company owner and cider maker Steve Dorman said the company had experienced “astronomical growth” since its launch last year. “We started in five hotels, now we are on tap in 40, and bottles are selling in 180,” he said. “People are sick of drinking beer, cider is lighter and fresher.” Sunday Mail, 30 October

He says a course called Countries ”transformed my life”.

    This is profoundly different to the old days when Australian bush tucker was often served wham, bam with all its strong, often astringent flavours, on a plate with a slab of kangaroo or crocodile.

    Today’s chefs are teaching themselves to use and understand the tastes and textures of our indigenous plants in a sympathetic, subtle and exciting way.

    At his new restaurant in The Star, David Chang is using warrigal greens that taste, in his words: ”… insane, they are so delicious.”

    In dining, significant trends often start at the top and work down. We may well be witnessing one here.

    How much more thrilling it would be for us to say finger limes, lilly-pilly and warrigal greens reflect the flavours of our land instead of some tired old meringue and cream creation with debatable origins.

    Who cares about a pavlova?

The AmeriSciences AS10 range of vitamins and supplements, which took six years to develop, contain the most powerful combination of anti-oxidants and vitamins ever devised.

The pill works by guarding against external toxins such as everyday radiation and pollution.

The pills also make people look younger within two months by reducing age spots, sun damage, redness and wrinkles.

The pill is 100 per cent natural and made from fruit and vegetables including superfoods acai, cupuacu and acerola.

A daily dose counts as one of the recommended five portions of fruit and vegetables a day.

Nasa and the Johnson Space Centre originally made the pills for astronauts on long space flights but they have been developed for general use and will hit UK shelves this week.

“AmeriSciences’ AS10 line is just another way in which AmeriSciences is pushing the technology of the industry forward for the benefit of the consumer,” the Daily Express quoted Carlos Montesinos, the range’s director of scientific and regulatory affairs as saying.

“The product line poses a significant challenge to the current supplement market.”

“Indeed, the strength of the antioxidant and multivitamin formulas have been so significant in testing that it will change the way nutritional supplementation is viewed,” Montesinos added.

Cupuacu Butter, also know as Manteiga de Cupuaçu in Portuguese, helps restore hydration to dry skin, treat various forms of dermatitis and may fight the effects of aging. Used widely in cosmetic products, cupuacu butter may be superior alternative to lanolin, cocoa butter and even shea butter.

What is Cupuacu Butter?

Cupuacu butter comes from the seeds of the cupuacu fruit. In fact, approximately 62% of the seeds weight comes from the healthy fat locked inside. This healthy fat has been used for centuries by the people of the Amazon to treat skin condition, heal the skin from the sun’s harmful rays and restore one’s natural beauty. Like the fruit, cupuacu butter contains powerful anti-oxidants and phytosterols which may have anti-inflammatory effect on the skin. These powerful anti-oxidants (especially beta-sitosterol) have been used to treat dermatitis and stimulate the healing process. Many use cupuacu butter to help treat conditions such as eczema and psoriasis.

Cupuacu Butter Works on a Cellular Level

As mentioned before cupuacu butter is comprised of healthy long-chain fatty acids. These long-chain fatty acids are actually triglyceride which holds a perfect balance of saturated and unsaturated fatty acids. The perfect balance of saturated and unsaturated fat gives cupuacu butter a low melting point (approximately 86 degrees Fahrenheit) which is quickly on absorbed into the skin on contact. Cupuacu butter works on the cellular level. In addition to regulating the balance of water, cupuacu butter helps regulate activities of the lipid layer within the skin.

Cupuacu Butter and Moisturizing

Cupuacu butter is an excellent emollient that restores elasticity to the skin while providing antioxidants and hydration. Cupuacu butter is considered a “super-moisturizer” because of its hydrophilic (water-loving) properties. As it carries water to the skin it makes skin supple, soft and more elastic. This is one reason why so may feel cupuacu butter has powerful anti-aging properties. It has been noted cupuacu butter’s water absorbency is approximately 240% greater than even lanolin. This deep hydration makes the skin smooth and soft to the touch. Nature could not have provided a better solution to dry, sunburned or aging skin.

The Key to a Youthful Appearance

Brazilian and cosmetic expert have long known cupuacu butter restores the skin and enhances natural beauty. That is why so many people use this amazing butter to help treat various skin conditions. There simply is no better alternative to the powerful anti-oxidants, deep hydration and healing properties of cupuacu butter.
